The “Next 50 Years Sacred Arts and Architecture Campaign” is a vital capital project focused on enriching the Metropolitan Cathedral of Saint Mary of the Assumption experience by preserving the Cathedral as a unique site of Sacred Art and Architecture and as a pre-eminent place of Spiritual encounter between the human and divine in the Roman Catholic tradition. The campaign will pursue restoration that pays tribute to the Cathedral’s original design while enhancing artistic elements with design partners who understand the history and legacy of the Mother Church of the Archdiocese. In 2017, Architecture Digest named the Cathedral as one of the 10 most beautiful churches in the United States.
